This earth is not home
Whether we are a billionaire or
millionaire, well off or not so well off, living paycheck to paycheck or penniless,
it does not matter. We all have one thing in common: This earth is not home (Colossians
3:3).
Yes: right here, right now, whether
we live in a palace, in a mansion, in a house, in a condominium, in a villa, in
an apartment, in a tent, on the street, or in a prison, we all have one thing
in common: we are all “homeless.”
“Therefore we are always confident,
knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord”
(2 Corinthians 5:6–7).
On the Last Day, there is only one way to go
home to be with the Lord; King Jesus is the only one with the keys to the
gateway to everlasting habitations; and he says: “I am he that liveth, and was
dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and
of death” (Revelation 1:18).
