GODLY or Ungodly. “BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful” (Psalm 1:1).
“THE fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good” (Psalm 14:1).
“They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression:
they speak loftily.
They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue
walketh through the earth.
They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they
plagued like other men.
And they say, ‘How doth God know? and is there knowledge in
the most High?;” (Psalm 73:8-9, 5, 11).
“Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world;
they increase in riches” (Psalm 73:11).
“When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
[UNTIL I WENT INTO THE SANCTUARY OF GOD; THEN UNDERSTOOD I THEIR END]” (Psalm
73:16-17).
“For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity
of the wicked” (Psalm 73:3).
“[FOR, LO, THEY THAT ARE FAR FROM THEE SHALL PERISH: THOU
HAST DESTROYED ALL THEM THAT GO A WHORING FROM THEE]. But it is good for me to
draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all
thy works” (Psalm 73:27-28).
“The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the
wind driveth away.
Therefore [THE UNGODLY SHALL NOT STAND IN THE JUDGMENT, NOR
SINNERS IN THE CONGREGATION OF THE RIGHTEOUS].
For the LORD knoweth [THE WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS]: but [THE WAY
OF THE UNGODLY SHALL PERISH]” (Psalm 1:4-6).
“[THEY THAT TRUST IN THEIR WEALTH, AND] boast themselves in
the multitude of [THEIR RICHES; NONE OF THEM CAN BY ANY MEANS REDEEM HIS
BROTHER], nor give to God a ransom for him: ([FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THEIR SOUL
IS PRECIOUS, AND IT CEASETH FOR EVER]:)” (Psalm 49:6-8).
“[A LITTLE THAT A RIGHTEOUS MAN HATH IS BETTER THAN THE
RICHES OF MANY WICKED]. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the
LORD upholdeth the righteous. The LORD knoweth [THE DAYS OF THE UPRIGHT: AND
THEIR INHERITANCE SHALL BE FOR EVER]” (Psalm 37:16-18).
“Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to
everlasting. Amen, and Amen” (Psalm 41:13).
