GODLY versus Ungodly.
A few words spoken by King David, “…the sweet psalmist in Israel” (2
Samuel 23:1):
“THE fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt,
they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good” (Pslam 14: 1).
“They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh
through the earth.
They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like
other men.
And they say, ‘How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most
High?;” (Psalm 73:8-9, 5, 11).
“Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches” (Psalm 73:11).
“When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; [UNTIL I WENT INTO THE SANCTUARY OF GOD; THEN UNDERSTOOD I THEIR END]” (Psalm 73:16-17).
“For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked” (Psalm 73:3).
“[FOR, LO, THEY THAT ARE FAR FROM THEE SHALL PERISH: THOU HAST DESTROYED ALL THEM THAT GO A WHORING FROM THEE]. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works” (Psalm 73:27-28).
“BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful” (Psalm 1:1).
“The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore [THE UNGODLY SHALL NOT STAND IN THE JUDGMENT, NOR SINNERS IN
THE CONGREGATION OF THE RIGHTEOUS].
For the LORD knoweth [THE WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS]: but [THE WAY OF THE
UNGODLY SHALL PERISH]” (Psalm 1:4-6).
“[THEY THAT TRUST IN THEIR WEALTH, AND] boast themselves in the multitude of [THEIR RICHES; NONE OF THEM CAN BY ANY MEANS REDEEM HIS BROTHER], nor give to God a ransom for him: ([FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THEIR SOUL IS PRECIOUS, AND IT CEASETH FOR EVER]:)” (Psalm 49:6-8).
“[A LITTLE THAT A RIGHTEOUS MAN HATH IS BETTER THAN THE RICHES OF MANY
WICKED]. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the
righteous. The LORD knoweth [THE DAYS OF THE UPRIGHT: AND THEIR INHERITANCE
SHALL BE FOR EVER]” (Psalm 37:16-18).
“Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting.
Amen, and Amen” (Psalm 41:13).
