A FRIEND OF GOD or of the world? “Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is an enemy of God” (James 4:4), says James, the brother of JESUS.
To be FRIEND OF GOD we must BELIEVE the word of GOD (Genesis 1:1-Revelation 22:21, KJV)!
JAMES, a
servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ…” (James 1:1) also reminds us that
we must be “…[DOERS OF THE WORD], and not hearers only…” (James 17:22).
“And the
scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham [BELIEVED] God, and it was imputed
unto him for [RIGHTEOUSNESS]: and he was called the [FRIEND OF GOD]” (James
2:23).
“For ever, O
LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).
“[ALL
SCRIPTURE] is given by [INSPIRATION OF GOD], and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in [RIGHTEOUSNESS]” (2 Timothy
3:16).
“LOVE NOT
THE WORLD, NEITHER THE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE WORLD” (1 John 2:15).
“For the
wisdom of this world is foolishness with God” (1 Corinthians 3:19).
“For all
that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [AND THE WORLD
PASSETH AWAY], and the lust thereof: [BUT HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF GOD ABIDETH
FOREVER]” (1 John 2:16–17).
To do the
will of God we must BELIEVE the word of God, we must REPENT AND BELIEVE in the
ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD: “That whosoever [BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD] not perish,
but [HAVE ETERNAL LIFE]” (John 3:15).
“Jesus
Christ the same [YESTERDAY], and [TODAY], and [FOREVER]” (Hebrews 13:8).
“And
whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing
that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve
the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23–24).
“For the
LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer” (Psalm,
31:23).
Jesus was
very clear when he says: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that [DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER]
which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
“Unto him be
glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, [WORLD WITHOUT END].
Amen” (Ephesians 3:21).
“To him be
glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 5:11).
