We must be careful of the words that we speak every day.
“A SOFT answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness” (Proverbs 15:1-2).
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that
love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21).
“The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly”
(Proverbs 18:23).
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and
health to the bones” (Proverbs 16:24).
“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness
therein is a breach in the spirit” (Proverbs 15:4).
“He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of
understanding is of an excellent spirit” (Proverbs 17:27).
JESUS says: “[HE THAT REJECTETH ME, AND RECEIVETH NOT MY WORDS],
hath one that judgeth him: [THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE
HIM IN THE LAST DAY]” (John 12:48).
“But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall
speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words
thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37).
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not
pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
“To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (1
Peter 5:11).
